We at Wimbledon want to encourage all parkrunners to bring a female friend, colleague or relative - especially someone who may never have heard of parkrun – is that possible! - or who might need some encouragement to attend this weekend. To celebrate IWD 2023, we would like to encourage as many women and girls as possible to come along to parkrun and participate in whatever way works for them. Whilst thousands of women and girls participate in parkrun every weekend, the number crunchers at Parkrun HQ have calculated that females are less likely to come along to parkrun after they have registered. While we will recognise the day next Saturday 11th March I thought I would tweek the presentation of this week's results in acknowledgement of IWD. Parkrun are planning a week-long celebration of women and girl's participation. Wednesday 8th March is International Women's Day.
